Position Summary

The Night Auditor is responsible for auditing, balancing, and reporting on various hotel operations, including food and beverage services, front desk activities, and retail operations. This role ensures that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and that company policies are adhered to, thereby preventing any discrepancies.

As a Night Auditor, you will:

  • Conduct audits on all food and beverage outlets, ensuring accuracy in cash and credit operations.
  • Balance and report on front desk transactions, including room charges and adjustments.
  • Prepare and verify room information reports to assist management in performance assessments.
  • Compile statistics and income journal sheets for daily reporting.
  • Close all bank ticket codes at the end of each day.
  • Execute the night audit process, ensuring all revenues are balanced.
  • Welcome guests and facilitate check-in and check-out procedures to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations by staying informed about in-house and local events.
  • Operate PBX equipment to manage incoming and outgoing calls efficiently.
  • Perform front desk duties, including express checkouts.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Experience: Background in accounting is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills:

  • Proficient in operating personal computers, cash registers, and calculators.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data.
  • Strong telephone etiquette and guest relations skills.
  • Good hearing and vision for effective communication and task execution.
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy for reading reports and handling numerical data.

Physical Requirements

This position requires physical capabilities that include:

  • Standing and bending for extended periods.
  • Mobility to navigate the hotel premises.
  • Occasional lifting of items up to 25 lbs.
  • Working in a climate-controlled environment with fluorescent lighting.
