Position Overview:

We are looking for a meticulous and seasoned Senior Accountant to join our finance department. The successful candidate will be instrumental in upholding the financial integrity of our organization by overseeing consolidations, preparing financial statements, reconciling balance sheets, and maintaining the general ledger. This role will also involve preparing tax filings, coordinating year-end audits, and managing grant reporting as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and oversee the consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities within the organization.
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurately recorded and reflect the organization's financial activities.
• Supervise the preparation of tax filings, coordinating with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
• Prepare and coordinate year-end audit activities, collaborating closely with external auditors for a smooth audit process.
• Manage grant reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with donor agreements and grant guidelines.
• Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the organization's financial operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support various projects and initiatives.
• Support the finance team in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within the nonprofit sector.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation and consolidations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
