Key Responsibilities
The Case Manager Coordinator plays a vital role in the treatment process by:
- Engaging with external case managers and managed care organizations to facilitate the certification and recertification of insurance benefits throughout the patient's treatment journey.
- Collaborating with the treatment team to ensure a comprehensive understanding of insurance requirements for continued care and effective discharge planning.
- Advocating for patients' access to necessary services during treatment team meetings and through direct communication with physicians.
- Leading treatment team meetings and overseeing continued stay reviews as required.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, mental health, nursing, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare environment or managed care organization, with a focus on patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, and/or case management is preferred.
