POSITION SUMMARY:

Palisades is in search of an Investment Analyst to enhance its dynamic Asset Management Team.

The primary responsibility of the Analyst will be to assist in the oversight and management of residential whole loans and real estate owned properties.

This role requires a collaborative team player who is capable of engaging in cross-functional projects and effectively communicating complex concepts to both internal and external stakeholders. The position provides an opportunity to work alongside the firm's industry-leading professionals across various teams, including Data Research & Reporting, Trading & Analytics, Asset Management, Capital Markets, Transaction Management, and Collateral Management. The ideal candidate will exhibit intellectual curiosity, self-motivation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Review and analyze loss mitigation transactions in alignment with investor mandates to optimize portfolio returns.
  • Engage in servicer oversight discussions, prepare agendas, document meeting minutes, and create actionable items as necessary.
  • Examine portfolio trends (delinquency, foreclosure, REO, etc.) and devise strategic initiatives to drive improvement.
  • Enhance portfolio performance through regular servicer oversight and proactive default management.
  • Process draw, extension, and payoff requests in collaboration with specialty servicers and originator counterparts.
  • Acquire, maintain, and refine proprietary investment and pricing models.
  • Learn and manage proprietary mortgage databases.
  • Compile reports and presentations for investors, vendors/loan servicers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures while completing administrative tasks accurately and promptly.
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics from a reputable undergraduate institution.
  • Experience: 0-2 years in the residential loan market, preferably with exposure to capital markets, hedge funds, or asset management. Recent graduates with strong academic records will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to create spreadsheet-based reports, tools, and analyses. Proficiency in MS Excel and VBA; familiarity with MS Access, Tableau, SQL, and R is advantageous.
  • The candidate must be a collaborative team member, capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining focus, adept at grasping complex concepts, and effectively communicating with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to address advanced problems involving multiple facets and variables in both standardized and specialized scenarios.
  • The candidate should be highly motivated, capable of working independently while also thriving in team settings.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions, train personnel, write reports, and engage clearly with customers, employees, vendors, and counterparts.
  • Experience with whole loan servicing and loss mitigation workflows is a plus.
  • The successful candidate must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to meet the demands and deadlines inherent to this role. Attention to detail is crucial.
