About the Role

This is a leadership position within the Commonwealth of Virginia's healthcare system, responsible for overseeing the operations of a patient care area. The successful candidate will be a transformational leader who can direct the activities of patient care and support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support the day-to-day operations of assigned patient care areas.
  • Supervise all nurses and support staff, including but not limited to Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and Technicians.
  • Ensure seamless care for adult and pediatric transplant patients, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Support patients throughout their transplant journey, from initial evaluation to post-transplant care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program, Master's degree in a related field within 5 years of hire.
  • At least 3 years of progressively more responsible experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment, with 5 years preferred.
  • License to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's license required for managers with responsibility for operations in multiple locations.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's Degree.
  • Previous experience in transplant services or a related healthcare setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
