POSITION OVERVIEW:
A Senior Liaison Engineer is tasked with addressing intricate challenges associated with aircraft production that necessitate a significant degree of creativity and resourcefulness. This role involves ensuring the precision of outcomes through collaboration with industry experts and formal evaluations. A comprehensive understanding of aviation regulatory standards is essential, as this knowledge will be applied in the formulation of repairs. The engineer must adeptly tackle technical issues while considering quality, cost-effectiveness, and timelines. Regular reviews of ongoing work are required to confirm adherence to specifications, design standards, and project schedules.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver Engineer Level II airframe assistance to the Liaison Engineering division.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Airframe Structures Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Customer Support, and Air Safety regarding engineering and technical matters related to Type Design.
  • Evaluate and resolve production airframe discrepancies using established repair techniques.
  • Represent the engineering team in the Material Review Board (MRB) process for airframe discrepancy resolution, including the validation of non-standard repair proposals.
  • Examine airframe engineering drawings and specifications for inaccuracies, document these findings, and escalate the issues to the relevant engineering teams for rectification.
  • Innovate and implement solutions while demonstrating resourcefulness to assist integrated product teams in modernizing practices within the airframe industry.
  • Support Design and Manufacturing by determining suitable methods for the fabrication, inspection, and installation of airframe components.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
This role requires effective collaboration with various company departments and the ability to provide technical oversight to team members addressing issues related to the essential job functions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required, along with a solid understanding of aircraft materials and hardware, and a minimum of five years of experience in MRB processes. Candidates should be capable of thriving in diverse team settings and be physically able to navigate between office and manufacturing environments without restrictions. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) is essential for fulfilling the responsibilities of this role.


LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
The individual must possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with all internal and external stakeholders in both written and verbal formats.
