Adjunct Faculty, Surgical Technology Specialist

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty, Surgical Technology Specialist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering surgical technology coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success, equity, and diversity.
Key Responsibilities- Course Development and Instruction: Prepare and teach courses in the field of surgical technology to a diverse student population based on the department's approved course learning outcomes, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of community college students and the standards of the discipline.
- Student Evaluation and Feedback: Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
- Teaching and Mentoring: Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner which does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories.
- Professional Development: Remain current in the field through a variety of professional development activities.
- Additional Duties: Supervise students at clinical sites and perform other related tasks as assigned by the department chair, dean, and/or associate vice president, vice president, executive vice president.
- Education: Must be a graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
- Certification: Applicants must also be certified through NBSTSA, and have consecutively held that certification for a minimum of two years.
- Work Environment: Work is routinely performed in an office/classroom environment.
- Physical Demands: Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
