Adjunct Faculty, Graphic Design Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adjunct Faculty, Graphic Design to join our team at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graphic design courses to a multicultural student population, evaluating student progress, and providing clear and timely feedback.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Prepare and deliver graphic design coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success, equity, and culturally responsive teaching.
- Evaluation and Feedback: Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
- Professional Development: Remain current in the field through a variety of professional development activities.
- Technology and Resources: Demonstrate proficiency using computer applications, online resources, and other technologies for the classroom, including an online learning management system such as Blackboard.
- Education: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Art, Graphic Design, Commercial Art, Computer Graphics, Graphic Design, Printing/Production, or Visual Communication.
- Work Experience: Documentable 3 years of non-teaching industry-relevant work experience.
- Qualifications: The successful candidate will be able to explain the role of the graphic designer and the design workflow within a studio environment, describe best practices of creative collaboration, and identify current visual trends and movements in graphic and interactive design.
- Technology: Demonstrated proficiency using an online learning management system such as Blackboard, and experience with HTML/CSS and visual design.
- Cover Letter: A cover letter explaining interest in the position.
- Curriculum Vitae (C.V.) or Resume: An updated C.V. or resume.
- Portfolio: A portfolio that includes examples of visual assets for print and digital applications.
- Transcripts: Unofficial/copy of transcripts.
