Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adjunct Faculty member to teach 3D Animation courses at Austin Community College. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in 3D animation, game development, and visual effects, as well as excellent teaching and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Prepare and deliver 3D Animation coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to student success, equity, and culturally responsive teaching.
  • Student Evaluation and Feedback: Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback reflecting program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
  • Professional Development: Remain current in the field through a variety of professional development activities, including workshops, conferences, and online courses.
  • Departmental and Institutional Service: Serve on college-wide and departmental committees, councils, work groups, and task forces, and participate in departmental and institutional service activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in 3D Animation, Game Development, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with significant industry experience.
  • Experience: Three years of non-teaching, industry-related work experience in 3D animation, game development, or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency in 3D animation software, game engines, and other industry-related technologies; excellent teaching and communication skills; and a strong commitment to student success and equity.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in 3D Animation, Game Development, or a related field with a strong emphasis in 3D animation, 3D modeling, and rendering.
  • Experience: Significant industry experience in 3D animation, game development, or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Experience with game engines, 3D animation software, and other industry-related technologies; excellent teaching and communication skills; and a strong commitment to student success and equity.
