How does this role contribute to First Command?

The National Branch Financial Advisor plays a crucial role in assisting First Command clients associated with the Home Office. This position entails proactive outreach to clients for account evaluations and updates, along with participation in specific initiatives as determined by leadership. The advisor will handle both outbound communications and incoming inquiries, which may range from basic account management to intricate financial matters such as asset transfers or adjustments due to life changes like childbirth, job transitions, divorce, or bereavement. The advisor is expected to deliver sound financial guidance and precise information tailored to meet client needs.

Advisors in this role are required to collaborate closely with clients to identify the most suitable and prudent financial strategies that align with the clients' best interests. This fiduciary responsibility involves making recommendations that reflect First Command's philosophy while ensuring clients receive the necessary direction and professional service. The National Branch is dedicated to addressing client needs in a timely, effective, and accurate manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver financial planning assistance to Home Office employees.
  • Manage inbound and outbound client communications to provide insights on First Command's offerings, including insurance and investment products, account types, and fund transactions.
  • Collaborate with Quality Management to address client issues, which includes direct communication with clients to understand their situations and coordinating with support staff and external partners to find resolutions.
  • Engage with clients holding insurance products to discuss potential modifications or updates, including Options to Purchase Additional Insurance (OPAIs) and Decreasing Term conversions.
  • Conduct thorough problem-solving for clients by assessing their current circumstances and inquiring about their best interests.
  • Facilitate opportunities for clients to reconnect with a First Command Field Advisor or National Branch Planning Advisor based on identified needs and client engagement in the financial planning process.
  • Implement any client outreach campaigns deemed essential by leadership.
  • Follow up with clients as needed to provide updates or finalize service requests.
  • Document all client interactions, attempts, and profile information within the CRM system, ensuring compliance with necessary financial regulations.
  • Offer guidance and support to maintain and enhance client Financial Plans.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • College degree or equivalent professional experience (required).
Experience:
  • At least two years of experience in the brokerage industry or a related field (required).
  • Preferred experience includes a minimum of one year in a call center environment.
  • Prior experience in brokerage and investment trading is advantageous.
Certifications:
  • Series 7 and 66 (or equivalent) and Life & Health licenses are required, or must be obtained within 120 days from the start date (required).
  • Completion of all coursework and certification at First Command Fast Start Academy (required).
  • Holding an active Certified Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation is preferred.

  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities.
