Job Overview

Metro Aviation, Inc. is in search of a Procurement Specialist for Production Operations to support the PMA Production Shop at our headquarters. Our objective is to ensure the utmost safety and quality in aircraft operations, completions, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure essential components and materials from approved suppliers to fulfill production needs.
  • Conduct thorough cost evaluations and market research to secure competitive pricing and optimal sourcing strategies.
  • Coordinate vendor audits to evaluate capabilities and reliability.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements and contracts to achieve cost-effective purchasing solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strategic delivery schedules to align with production timelines and customer expectations.
  • Analyze usage trends and forecast inventory requirements to maintain sufficient stock levels.
  • Generate and allocate job orders based on production demands and customer requests.
  • Compile and assess time reports to monitor labor costs and productivity.
  • Ensure timely completion of production jobs to facilitate accurate billing and reporting.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quotes to clients based on comprehensive cost analysis.
  • Assist clients in identifying necessary part numbers and technical drawings for their orders.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding lead times and customer specifications.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on the status of their orders or repair jobs.
  • Review re-order lists to determine replenishment needs and prioritize orders accordingly.
  • Generate shop travelers that outline job specifications and requirements for production.
  • Ensure precise interpretation and distribution of engineering drawings to production teams.
  • Manage receiving inspections and coordinate with suppliers on returns and corrective actions for rejected items.
  • Maintain traceability and quality control by properly tagging and identifying parts.
  • Assist in the fabrication of aircraft components according to engineering specifications.
  • Review production schedules and work orders to ascertain material and personnel requirements.
  • Monitor work processes to ensure compliance with standards and report any concerns to management.
  • Facilitate on-site training sessions to uphold safety protocols and quality measures.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Typing proficiency of at least 30-40 words per minute.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Physical tasks may include standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

  • Indoor/outdoor shop environment with varying temperatures.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels.

Work Status

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
  • No travel required.
