Logistics Operations Specialist III at Williams

The Logistics Operations Specialist III is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the flow of materials for both capital and operational initiatives. This role entails addressing moderately complex challenges with practical solutions, focusing on effective communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procures company equipment, materials, supplies, and services at minimal expense, ensuring timely delivery to designated locations
  • Monitors inventory levels and purchase orders
  • Provides expertise in various administrative processes within the logistics sector
  • Recommends tools and strategies to the Inventory Committee to improve inventory metrics
  • Ensures security and accountability within warehouses and laydown yards
  • Schedules meetings with project and department managers to discuss project requirements
  • Collaborates with buyers and other coordinators to effectively manage material needs, reallocating surplus materials and resolving discrepancies
  • Operates forklifts and telehandlers for loading and unloading project materials, verifying received items against purchase orders
  • Organizes warehouse and storage areas, ensuring proper identification of all materials and equipment
  • Performs additional assigned duties as necessary
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Required: High School Diploma/GED; a minimum of six (6) years of experience in gas pipeline and compression equipment; Forklift Certification
Additional Requirements:
  • Possession of a valid State Driver's License and a clean driving record are essential
  • Exhibits outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, with a strong emphasis on safety
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and general PC skills
  • Experienced in operating forklifts and telehandlers
  • Familiar with warehouse layouts and pipe laydown areas
  • Knowledgeable in materials management and logistics operations
  • Preferred: Experience with materials and equipment in the oil and gas sector
  • Preferred: Background in shipping, logistics, and expediting
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Manlift equipment
