Role Summary
  • No prior experience in instrument repair is necessary; we welcome entry-level candidates.
  • This position includes comprehensive training.
  • As a technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, repair, and refurbishment of surgical instruments in a mobile setting.
  • Technicians operate from mobile repair units, delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring timely and compliant repairs.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • A driving record check will be conducted as part of the onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct basic to intermediate repairs on surgical instruments, including ultrasonic functionality, metallurgy, polishing, bending, sharpening, and brazing.
  • Exhibit quality workmanship in advanced tasks such as Dremel operation and laparoscopic inspections.
  • Manage invoicing and documentation as needed.
  • Regularly interact with hospital environments while primarily working from a mobile repair unit.
  • Support various locations based on service agreements and customer requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety and health policies, utilizing personal protective equipment as required.
  • Comply with all operational protocols for the safe functioning of the mobile lab.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years of work experience, including at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and maneuver instrument carts.
  • Flexible availability, including early/late hours and weekends as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and meet FMCSA and driving license requirements.
  • Must pass a DOT medical/physical exam and comply with all regulations.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary.
  • Related certifications or military experience may be considered.
Relevant Experience

Hands-on repair, assembly, or product testing experience is beneficial. Relevant skills may include small engine repair, electronics repair, carpentry, circuit board assembly, and automotive repair.
