Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and strategize workforce allocation, spatial needs, workflow optimization, and layout design of machinery and work areas to enhance productivity.
  • Innovate, assess, and refine production methodologies.
  • Employ statistical techniques to forecast future manufacturing demands.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all processes, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standard work protocols.
  • Calculate production timelines, staffing necessities, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
  • Facilitate activities aimed at resolving production challenges, enhancing product dependability, and reducing expenses.
  • Support daily troubleshooting efforts to maximize the yield of quality products.
  • Implement corrective measures to address process inconsistencies and identify root causes to avert future occurrences.
  • Contribute to the creation of new prototypes and their transition into large-scale production.
  • Investigate customer feedback as necessary.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize assembly and fabrication techniques.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to set standards and establish quality and reliability goals for finished goods.
  • Lead improvement initiatives, utilizing Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, and other operational excellence methodologies to drive enhancements.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of incremental capital and process advancements.
  • Gather detailed estimates or designs for fixtures, tools, and engineering needs to develop formal proposals for management review.
  • Identify and facilitate Kaizen events as required.
  • Collaborate with management, engineering, and other personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production timelines, and other factors to streamline production processes.
  • Supervise the installation and testing of machinery, facilities, and equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Develop alternative processing models to assess the viability of new system applications and recommend methods for implementing improved procedures.
  • Adhere to all operational procedures and policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, as well as Quality and Environmental programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience of 5+ years in a relevant field.
  • Experience in metal fabrication and/or manufacturing settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in metal-cutting processes, grinding, and tooling production.
  • Strong background in manufacturing and processing engineering, including CNC machining, metal forming, and welding.
  • Extensive understanding of general machining practices.
  • Ability to specify manufacturing processes for components and resolve machining issues through tooling, gauging, and fixturing.
  • Proficient in estimating machining cycles, conducting method analyses, and performing project evaluations.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Pro-E, and MasterCAM is advantageous.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is also required.
