Job Summary

The Intake Specialist is a key member of our team at KPH Healthcare Services, Inc., responsible for managing the referral intake process with exceptional attention to detail and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate with referral sources, insurance companies, and patients to ensure timely and accurate processing of referrals.
  • Obtain and maintain all necessary authorizations and documentation for patient care.
  • Participate in the Patient Referral Huddle Process to review and discuss pending referrals and their status.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines regarding patient information and proprietary company data.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with special medical supplies, appliances, or nursing services as needed for patient transition.
  • Communicate with Marketing, Account Executives, and Pharmacy Staff regarding promotional and educational programs.
  • Complete all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • One year of intake experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in the home healthcare field.
  • Basic knowledge of the Insurance approval/authorization process.
Preferred Skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally, via phone and through email.
  • Strong PC skills with a focus on Excel proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently.
