Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team in the Admitting and Emergency Department. As a key member of our patient access team, you will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Perform registrations and preregistrations for inpatient, emergency, and outpatient tests and procedures
- Schedule services and provide accurate date and time information to patients and physicians
- Review eligibility responses and assess patient benefit levels
- Prepare patient estimates and collect payments in accordance with established procedures
- Utilize screening tools to determine possible payer sources and refer patients to Financial Counselors as needed
- Obtain, scan, and index physician orders
- Cross-train to staff all areas of Patient Access
- Maintain productivity and quality standards for all areas of responsibility
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of customer service experience preferred
- Ability to maintain accuracy in job duties, multi-task, and exercise independent judgment
- Proficiency in data entry and basic math skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and excellent customer service skills
