Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Active Transportation Engineering Designer to join our team at BCC Engineering. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and preparing shared-use path, trail, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities using industry-standard criteria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of a licensed engineer to plan, analyze, and prepare shared-use path, trail, and bicycle and pedestrian facilities using AASHTO, DOT, and/or local jurisdiction criteria.
  • Develop 3D models of shared-use paths, trails, bicycle, and pedestrian facilities using Corridor Modeling in GEOPAK, Open Roads, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Approach tasks with an open mindset and propose innovative solutions to design problems.
  • Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review by a licensed engineer.
  • May track and provide initial review tasks of technicians or designers.
  • Responsible for managing timely completion of multiple assigned tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and internal design groups; external communication as required on assigned tasks.
  • Effectively present proposed design solutions as part of internal project meetings; may attend and contribute to presentations with external parties.
  • Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely resume updates and participating in marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure timely completion of time sheets and expense reports.
  • Take ownership of personal career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop new skills, and setting and pursuing personal goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
  • 0-5 years of experience.
