Areté is in search of a motivated Program Manager to oversee one of the Integrated Product Teams (IPT) within the Maritime Airborne Sector (MAS). The selected candidate will be responsible for managing program performance by collaborating with IPT Leads to efficiently oversee and communicate business status, including schedule adherence. The role will involve automating and enhancing reporting processes through modern tools and refined metrics. The candidate will engage with IPT Leadership throughout all program phases, from inception to completion, including proposal development, cost estimation, statement of work creation, negotiations, risk management, staffing, and deliverables. The Program Manager will also represent the IPT in customer meetings, presenting data and insights as required, with a focus on cost, schedule, and overall status. Additionally, the candidate will assist in new business development efforts that align with the sector's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee program scope, resource allocation, risk management, scheduling, budgeting, and deliverables for both internal and external programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key sector members to enhance business operations and streamline workflows.
  • Design and implement business tools and metrics for the sector and/or IPTs as directed by Sector Leadership.
  • Identify efficiency improvement opportunities and propose enhancements to Sector Leadership.
  • Manage initiatives as outlined by Sector Leadership.
  • Coordinate business capture processes for specific efforts, including budget allocations, proposal team assembly, proposal drafting, program costing, and contract negotiations.
  • Engage in MAS business capture planning activities, including pipeline reviews, operational plan creation, bid agenda formulation, and opportunity gate assessments.
  • Collaborate with various levels within the MAS Sector and Areté Corporate teams, including management, engineering, production, finance, and administration.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in program management related to Department of Defense (DoD) funded initiatives.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business management, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the proposal writing process and cost estimation within the DoD framework.
  • Strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with presentation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, and SharePoint.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Technical experience with DoD programs, including reporting requirements and technical evaluations.
  • Experience in financial modeling for program and business unit performance assessment, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Familiarity with Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.
  • Experience working with the Department of Defense, particularly the U.S. Navy.
  • Possession of an active security clearance or eligibility to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint and IBM Cognos is a plus.

The salary range for this position is between $140,000 and $160,000, with various factors influencing the final offer, including role responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and skills.

Eligibility Requirements:

U.S. citizenship is mandatory for this position. Selected candidates will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information. A background check and a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug test are also required.
