Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Automation Technician to become a permanent member of our innovative team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a qualified individual to play a key role in our company's advancement. As an Automation Technician, your primary responsibilities will include conducting research and development aimed at enhancing equipment automation and pioneering processes. You will engage in the research, design, and testing of electrical components, systems, and equipment. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers competitive pay and benefits, with local travel to various facilities and suppliers, without the need for overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform research and data analysis, documenting and tracking project progress, and generating relevant reports.
  • Utilize computer-aided engineering and design software, including CAD, for engineering tasks and designs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and plant personnel to troubleshoot issues, gather information, and assist in design development.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of designing new equipment or modifying existing facilities, considering various technical and economic factors.
  • Provide technical support to divisions, applying engineering principles and experimental design to resolve issues.
  • Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for equipment modifications or expansions.
  • Fabricate and test experimental motor control devices, control panels, transformers, and other electrical components.
  • Maintain positive relationships with equipment and electrical vendors, exploring new potential sources and negotiating terms.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions, expedite orders for timely delivery, and maintain records for billing and invoicing.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and ensure a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming using software such as Studio 5000 Logix, RSLogix 500, EZWARE, Siemens, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of ladder logic concepts.
  • Familiarity with computer networking techniques and concepts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
