Human Resources Generalist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This role will provide general and specific human resources support in the areas of recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and leave administration.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage full-cycle recruiting for seasonal summer camp and regular staff positions, including writing job postings, conducting phone screens and interviews, coordinating interview schedules, and extending offers of employment.
- Plan, coordinate, and attend recruitment and career fairs, events, and other activities to build candidate pipelines for seasonal camp positions. Network with local high schools, colleges, universities, career centers, and community groups to promote employment opportunities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop recruitment collateral, flyers, and campaigns.
- Manage and facilitate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including conducting new hire orientations and exit interviews.
- Provide support, guidance, and training to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Partner with managers and employees to resolve employee relations and performance issues through coaching, counseling, investigation, and conflict resolution.
- Assist in the day-to-day administration of leaves of absence and workers' compensation processes, including providing required notifications, documentation, and follow-up.
- Support the implementation of HR strategies and initiatives in partnership with the Director of Human Resources to develop structure, business processes, and other initiatives.
- Lead or participate in projects and other duties as assigned to meet department goals and objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field; HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) desired.
- Minimum three years of progressive human resources experience, including recruiting.
- Previous high-volume recruiting experience for entry to mid-level positions.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with candidates, staff, and others.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and act with diplomacy when working with employee data or other confidential information.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems (preferably Paylocity).
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to council properties, recruiting events, and other meetings.
- Belief in the mission and values of Girl Scouts San Diego and a willingness to subscribe to the principles expressed in the Girl Scouts Promise and Law.
Full-time employees of Girl Scouts San Diego are eligible to opt into benefit plans that include medical, dental, vision, life, AFLAC, and a 401(k) plan with employer match.
Expected salary range: $68,000 - $73,000 (DOE)
