Job DescriptionHope Services is a leading provider of services to people with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. We are seeking a talented Human Resources Generalist to join our team.
The Human Resources Generalist will perform operational duties within Human Resources, including end-stage recruiting, onboarding, document reviews, notices to employees, and offboarding as needed. The successful candidate will work with the HR Business Partner on special projects and provide HR support to district employees.
Key Responsibilities:1. Implement employee wage and benefit programs, policies, procedures, and agency employee retention efforts.2. Ensure compliance with all State and Federal employment laws, monitoring and advising department managers on employment documentation issues.3. Conduct and arrange for required annual and ongoing employee training, ensuring accurate management of renewal certifications as required.4. Perform recruitment functions for agency staffing, coordinating agency advertising, ensuring accurate posting and screening of applicants.5. Ensure appropriate implementation of the Union Bargaining Agreement, serving as the point of contact for localized grievances and internal investigations.6. Review employee resignations and conduct exit interviews, making recommendations to hiring managers and ensuring screening and documentation requirements for applicants and new hires meet all regulatory requirements.7. Provide support and resources for ongoing staff training and new employee orientation, training and coaching managers and supervisors in screening, interviewing, and hiring, and required training.8. Attend and participate in staff meetings of assigned regions and assigned agency committees, providing staff support and making presentations and reports as needed.9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:A four-year college degree in Human Resources or a related field, plus 2 years of management-level experience, or an approved combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS systems, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and practices, ability to interact effectively with individuals, groups, and diverse populations, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to analyze data and produce reports, ability to lead and manage change, and ability to remain calm and assist others during stressful situations.
Work Environment:An enclosed office environment, with time spent sitting, using a computer station, periods of intense concentration, using the telephone, computer, and performing paperwork, time spent in meetings, travel to various work site locations throughout three counties, and some exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
