Job Overview:

Krasan Consulting Services is seeking a proficient Senior Software Developer to contribute to the Agency's Educator Licensure Information System (ELIS) and the Annual Program Report (APR) system. These systems are essential for over 500,000 educators in the state, facilitating licensure applications and reporting of enrollment and program completion data by Illinois colleges and universities.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development and Design

  • Oversee the architecture and implementation of software solutions, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
  • Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to industry best practices.
  • Conduct code evaluations and offer constructive feedback to enhance team output.
  • Handle data requests and execute data queries efficiently.

Technical Guidance

  • Provide mentorship to junior developers, promoting a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Keep abreast of emerging industry trends and technologies to introduce innovative solutions.
  • Engage in architectural discussions, offering technical insights and recommendations.

Project Coordination

  • Work alongside project managers, business analysts, and subject matter experts to outline project scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • Estimate development efforts and manage task allocations to ensure timely project completion.
  • Monitor and report on project status, addressing any challenges or obstacles promptly.

Quality Assurance

  • Design and implement unit, integration, and automated tests to uphold software quality.
  • Identify and rectify software defects and performance issues.
  • Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, subject matter experts, QA engineers, and UX/UI designers, to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Document software designs, code, and technical processes for future reference and maintenance.

Maintenance and Support

  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing applications, ensuring they meet business needs.
  • Quickly troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Optimize and refactor existing codebases to enhance performance and maintainability.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Microsoft Full-Stack Developer.
  • Proven expertise in:
  • ASP.Net Core 3.x,
  • ASP.Net Framework 4.x
  • ASP.Net Web Forms
  • Entity Framework (or EFCore)
  • JavaScript - Any Major Framework (Vue, React, Angular)
  • SQL Server 2008+
  • T-SQL
  • Visual Basic / C#
  • APIs
  • SSRS
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Education Sector Technologies and projects is advantageous.
