These systems play a crucial role in supporting over 500,000 educators across the state, facilitating their licensure applications and enabling Illinois colleges and universities to report essential data to the state education board.

Key Responsibilities:

Software Development and Design

  • Lead the architecture and implementation of software solutions, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
  • Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to industry best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews, offering constructive feedback to enhance team output.
  • Handle data requests and perform data queries as needed.

Technical Leadership

  • Guide and mentor junior developers, promoting a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry advancements to integrate innovative solutions.
  • Engage in architectural discussions, providing valuable technical insights.

Project Coordination

  • Work with project managers and analysts to outline project objectives, scope, and timelines.
  • Estimate development efforts and manage task allocations to ensure timely delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively addressing any challenges.

Quality Assurance

  • Design and execute unit, integration, and automated tests to uphold software quality.
  • Identify and rectify software defects and performance issues.
  • Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high standards of code quality.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and UX/UI designers, to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Document software designs, code, and processes for future reference.

Maintenance and Support

  • Provide ongoing support for existing applications, ensuring they meet evolving business needs.
  • Quickly troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Refactor and optimize existing codebases to enhance performance and maintainability.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a Microsoft Full-Stack Developer.
  • Proven expertise in:
  • ASP.Net Core 3.x,
  • ASP.Net Framework 4.x,
  • ASP.Net Web Forms,
  • Entity Framework (or EFCore),
  • JavaScript frameworks (Vue, React, Angular),
  • SQL Server 2008+,
  • T-SQL,
  • Visual Basic / C#,
  • APIs,
  • SSRS.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server Database.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in technologies and projects within the education sector is advantageous.
