Product Strategy Manager

The Product Strategy Manager is accountable for the formulation and overall effectiveness of product strategies for the designated product line. This position oversees the process of identifying, evaluating, and executing products and services, which includes the development and management of the product roadmap and lifecycle management of the product. Acting as the product authority, this role collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to collect insights, devise strategies, establish requirements, and engage in implementation. This position works cross-functionally within the organization to foster strategies and initiatives that drive innovation, expansion, and efficiency through product development. Furthermore, this role assesses product performance and proposes strategic recommendations, which may involve the introduction of new products or services, enhancements to existing benefits, or discontinuation of underperforming offerings.

  • Crafts a comprehensive product vision, strategy, and roadmap that aligns with organizational objectives and meets customer demands. This includes prioritizing product features and establishing timelines.
  • Conducts thorough market analysis to gather insights that identify customer preferences and trends, informing product decisions.
  • Collaborates with various business units to gather essential market intelligence, stakeholder feedback, and regulatory requirements to create a robust product roadmap.
  • Monitors competitive landscape through collaboration with competitive intelligence teams to stay informed about local and national market trends.
  • Oversees the product lifecycle by evaluating product performance to determine success, making necessary adjustments, or recommending consolidation or retirement of underperforming products.
  • Leads the creation of business proposals for product enhancements, detailing the business opportunity, projected costs, and operational implications of proposed changes.
  • Partners with sales and marketing teams to formulate go-to-market strategies, pricing, and positioning for products, including messaging and support for product launches.
  • Facilitates training sessions for sales and brokers on new products or enhancements.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Product Strategy Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Health Care Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in product management or closely related roles.
  • Exceptional presentation skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making. Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment. Proficient in health insurance products and skilled in MS Office applications including Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
