Job Overview

BCForward is seeking a Laboratory Quality Assurance Technician.

Position Summary:

The Laboratory Quality Assurance Technician will conduct standard analytical and laboratory evaluations to support the food safety, quality assurance, and operational teams.

We are in search of a dedicated individual who will carry out routine product assessments, ensuring the proper functioning of testing equipment and performing analyses under moderate supervision. In this capacity, you will:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record findings in databases and communicate testing outcomes.
  • Assist in fostering a culture of food/feed safety, quality, and compliance by collaborating across departments to enhance and sustain effective practices.
  • Perform calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and basic repairs on analytical instruments, ensuring that customer specifications are current.
  • Analyze and document test results in active databases and relay findings to internal stakeholders as necessary.
  • Oversee compliance protocols for all testing procedures, which includes monitoring adherence to regulations and other food safety compliance measures.
  • Execute routine quantitative and qualitative inspections and laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process, and final products independently, while supporting more complex trials and experiments under moderate supervision.
  • Manage clerical, administrative, technical, or customer support tasks under general oversight, escalating more complex issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety protocols, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Compose routine reports and correspondence.
