Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Serrato Corporation. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, bathrooms, and other high-touch areas using established protocols and procedures.
  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers; and replace light bulbs.
  • Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events.
  • Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
  • Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed buffers, and vacuums.
  • Wash walls and equipment, and use ladders when required in work assignments.
  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings, secure building when facilities are not in use, and check for unlocked doors and windows.
  • Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies, and use as directed.
  • Perform cleaning and related activities, such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within 16 feet of buildings.
  • Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.
  • Wash accessible interior and exterior windows, clean blinds, and launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
  • Attend to emergencies when necessary, and attend safety meetings and other related meetings.
  • Take classes as required in cleaning methods and techniques, new products, First Aid, CPR, and working relationships.
  • Handle recycling materials, call in work orders, and assist in the instruction and supervision of student help.
  • Assist with inventory control and security, and work towards meeting performance standard goals.
  • Follow the CDSS plan and Standards of Conduct system, maintain good housekeeping in all areas, and comply with safety practices.
  • Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), Serrato policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate and abide by Serrato Corporation's core values and operating principles, model, mentor, and monitor appropriate Career Success Standards, and help students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three to six months of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques, and standards.
  • Attention to detail in the cleanliness and maintenance of building and center grounds.
