About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Chapel Haven Schleifer Center, Inc. as a Facilities Specialist. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine semi-skilled maintenance tasks to ensure the upkeep and safety of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform a variety of routine maintenance tasks, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical trades work, to ensure facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe and clean condition.
  • Grounds Keeping: Oversee general grounds-keeping activities, including lawn and garden maintenance, and snow removal when necessary.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate a variety of tools and equipment, and perform related work as required.
  • Facility Inspections: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, and air conditioning equipment; replace filters; identify and report more complex maintenance needs to the Facilities Manager.
  • Safety and Security: Inspect facilities and grounds for safety and security; identify and report hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Compliance: Ensure all Chapel Haven facilities comply with OSHA, CARF, DDS, Health Department, Building Department, and Fire Marshall Safety standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' work experience including mechanical, plumbing, electrical.
  • Skills: Effective judgment and decision-making skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; independently organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid CT Driver's License.
