Nashville TNSchedule: 1st shift 7AM - 3:30 PMProjected duration: 3 months + potential for permJob code: CVDJP multiple openings benefits are available MLS/MLT with Microbiology experience Must have been through a Clinical MLS/MLT program and have an ASCP or AMT certification.
Only candidates who have gone through a formal medical laboratory training programs within their education will be considered. Microbiology plate reading experience required.Dayshift hours; every other weekend
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist.
Work environment/department will be listed in requirement.
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmentalStandard Operating Procedures.
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipmentRequirements:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
Minimum 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.
