Job Summary

The Finance/Budget Manager is responsible for providing comprehensive financial and administrative management for the Department of Entomology. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer accounting information systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with university, state, and federal regulations, including financial and accounting standards.
  • Provide analysis and reports to track financial and academic resources and outcomes.
  • Establish rates and determine cost-effective methods of conducting business.
  • Provide management and administrative oversight for personnel issues for the Department.
  • Responsible for overall management and leadership of Department's day-to-day operations and financial services.
  • Responsible for fiscal and budgetary management, oversight of facilities and resource management, coordination of contracts and grants, service centers, and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheet, database, word processing, e-mail, and calendaring software.
  • Experience with budget, personnel, and management of financial resources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with preparing financial reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than 2 years of fiscal experience in an academic department in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with WSU systems.
  • Experience with the Workday system.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience using computerized accounting information systems and/or applications software.
  • Demonstrated effective managerial experience.
