Job Summary

The Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager I to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and monitoring of service contracts, as well as managing the Region IMMS coordination.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs and implementation of service contracts, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide oversight to the Contract Manager, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and execution of state service contracts.
  • Manage the Region IMMS coordination, including requesting and providing IMMS expenditure reports, physical inventory management, damage claims, and monitoring time and expense entries.
  • Act as the backup for reviewing and approving staff time for the Sunrise Maintenance Region.
  • Responsible for effective planning, coordination, care, and operation of field maintenance facilities, including communicating with management and coordinating facility repair operations with the District Maintenance Facilities Engineer.
  • Oversee the purchase and installation/removal contract for vehicle cell phone cradles and mobile radios, as well as coordinate radio repairs with the Office of Emergency Services (OES).
  • Manage the Cal-Sense Irrigation Program, including developing a repair and maintenance plan to ensure the program remains in good operational condition.
  • Responsible for managing the Maintenance program expendable property inventory reconciliation and inspections.
Requirements
  • Class C driver's license is required.
  • Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required. Failure to submit a Statement of Qualifications will disqualify candidates from the hiring process.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership experience in managing and/or sustaining major programs with a wide span of control.
  • Experience in developing and implementing effective maintenance programs, including inventory management and property reconciliation.
Working Conditions

The position is located at a Department of Transportation facility. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
