Job Summary

As a key member of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Sacramento Natomas team, the Maintenance Supervisor - Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Maintenance Department. This includes supervising personnel, managing department budgets, and ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Supervision: Hire, train, and motivate department personnel to ensure they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively.
  2. Performance Management: Conduct regular performance appraisals to evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  3. Financial Management: Manage department budgets, order supplies, and process accounts payable to ensure that all financial obligations are met.
  4. Scheduling and Staffing: Schedule personnel within budget guidelines to ensure adequate staffing levels and minimize overtime.
  5. Quality Assurance: Inspect guest rooms after preventative maintenance to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
  6. Facilities Maintenance: Maintain the hotel grounds and building exteriors on a daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis to ensure that the property remains in good condition.
  7. Program Development: Develop and maintain maintenance department programs to ensure that the Quality Assurance Program criteria are met.
  8. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all equipment, including laundry equipment, heating and air conditioning units, ice machines, fire extinguishers, fire/smoke alarms, lawn sprinklers, lawn equipment, boilers, and plumbing, are maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements.
  9. Swimming Pool and Spa Maintenance: Ensure that swimming pool and spa maintenance duties are performed according to manufacturer specifications and local health department regulations.
  10. Guest Recovery: Use the L.E.A.R.N Model to resolve guest recovery incidents and ensure that all guests receive a high level of service.
  11. Communication: Communicate effectively with other departments to fulfill guest special requests and ensure that all guest needs are met.
  12. Emergency Procedures: Ensure that all hotel emergency procedures are followed and that all employees are trained on emergency procedures and safety guidelines.
  13. Key Control: Maintain key control files and logs, and ensure that all keys are properly administered.
  14. Work Order Management: Complete maintenance work orders and deliver them to supervisors or managers in a timely manner.
  15. Department Communication: Establish a department communication and information system through logs, department meetings, and coaching and counseling.
