Job Title: Compensation Administrator

Job Overview: In the role of Compensation Administrator, you will oversee the payroll operations for staff members, ensuring precision and punctuality in all financial transactions. You will work in conjunction with the Human Resources department to collect essential data and maintain employee documentation. Your meticulous nature and knowledge of payroll laws will be crucial in guaranteeing adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payroll Processing: Accurately compute salaries, deductions, and incentives based on attendance logs, time records, and other pertinent information.
  2. Record Maintenance: Ensure precise documentation of employee attendance, hours worked, and payroll deductions.
  3. Information Verification: Scrutinize time records and related documents to confirm accuracy and address any inconsistencies.
  4. Regulatory Compliance: Remain informed about federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance with tax obligations and reporting standards.
  5. Inquiry Management: Respond to employee questions regarding payroll issues, including deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
  6. Report Generation: Create payroll reports for management and accounting purposes, including tax submissions, wage summaries, and labor distribution analyses.
  7. Record Updates: Modify employee payroll records for changes such as new hires, separations, promotions, and adjustments in salary or benefits.
  8. Audit Assistance: Support payroll audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
  9. HR Collaboration: Partner closely with the HR team to ensure accurate employee data and resolve any payroll-related challenges.
  10. Confidentiality Maintenance: Manage sensitive employee information with the utmost confidentiality and discretion.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in accounting or payroll management is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience as a payroll administrator or in a comparable position.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong grasp of payroll principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional numerical and data entry capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
