Position Overview

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a transit infrastructure project with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serve as the Resident Engineer, providing leadership to Office Engineers, Construction Inspectors, and Project Support Staff.
  • Ensure that the contractor's operations align with the established schedule, budget, technical specifications, and legal standards.
  • Address and resolve design and construction challenges promptly.
  • Engage in progress meetings to deliver comprehensive project updates.
  • Facilitate timely design modifications and field adjustments.
  • Evaluate and manage contractor requests for change orders.
  • Collaborate in negotiations regarding contract modifications.
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safety-oriented work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in overseeing large-scale, complex heavy civil engineering projects.
  • At least 5 years of experience in supervisory roles related to major construction contract management.
  • Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
  • California Professional Engineering registration or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  • Experience with transit projects that include tunnels, underground stations, and track construction.
  • Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-Hour safety certification required prior to project initiation.
