Job Overview

Mission Veterinary Partners is on the lookout for a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to enhance our dedicated team.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate along with a sign-on bonus.

Position Type: This is a full-time role, requiring commitment to 10-hour shifts across four days each week.

Ideal Candidate: We are seeking an individual who demonstrates strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient welfare, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment. Candidates with a minimum of one year in general practice are preferred, but we also welcome applications from newly certified technicians.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Adhere to the Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.
  • Support the operational flow of the shift by guiding support staff.
  • Encourage professional growth and development among team members.
  • Assist in the performance evaluation process by providing feedback to management.
  • Deliver patient care under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with clients.
  • Accurately document all relevant medical and client information in patient records.
  • Review medical records and discharge instructions with clients.
  • Address client inquiries regarding basic animal care and procedures, escalating medical questions to veterinarians as necessary.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist clients with appointment scheduling, payment processing, and check-in procedures.
  • Provide courteous and informative responses to phone inquiries.
  • Contribute to the training program by offering constructive feedback.
  • Participate in job shadowing or working interviews as needed.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in a range of veterinary skills, including laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental, and nursing.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Competence in administering injections and understanding medication protocols.
  • Familiarity with anesthesia protocols and patient recovery monitoring.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail.
  • Confidence in handling animals and providing care.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • State licensing is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the veterinary field is required.
Physical Requirements

The role necessitates the ability to perform various physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees must be able to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to various sounds and potential hazards associated with animal care.
