YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager of Licensing and Credentialing will oversee the licensure and credentialing processes for our medical professionals and nursing staff to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations. You will be responsible for enhancing our foundational licensing and credentialing operations, which include:

  • Completing, submitting, and following up on new licensure applications for providers and nurses, including verification of training, education, certifications, and more.
  • Monitoring and executing licensing and credentialing renewals for providers and nurses, ensuring all licenses and credentials remain current and compliant with regulatory standards, including post-license actions and CME tracking.
  • Engaging with licensing boards, credentialing organizations, and healthcare providers to address any issues or discrepancies in their documentation.
  • Developing and refining our internal licensing and credentialing processes, including tracking, monitoring, communication pathways, and documentation.
  • Coordinating with local vendors to support the licensing process, such as mobile notary services and fingerprinting services.
  • Collaborating closely with Thyme Care's Clinical Compliance and Care Delivery leaders to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Partnering with our physician, APP, and nursing teams to create a seamless internal process.

This role will initially involve both being a subject matter expert in licensing and credentialing as well as executing these functions. You should be comfortable transitioning between independent work, engaging with external parties such as state medical boards, and collaborating with provider and nursing teams. You will report to our Director of Care Delivery and work cross-functionally with our Legal & Compliance, Care Delivery, and People teams.

AFTER YOUR INITIAL PERIOD, YOU WILL:

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the licensed roles within Thyme Care and demonstrate mastery in executing each.
  • Establish a scalable, compliant framework for our licensing and credentialing functions, including evaluating internal and external tools.
  • Independently lead and manage the day-to-day operations of licensing and credentialing.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of SOPs related to physician and nursing licensure.
  • Foster strong, trusting relationships with your team, grounded in listening and empathy.
  • Encourage a culture of growth mindset, continuous learning, and service excellence.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

Your background and experience reflect:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role within a licensing and credentialing function (required).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Series A-C healthcare startup (required).
  • Experience in building, scaling, and strategizing for a licensing and credentialing function.
  • Prior experience managing licensure for physicians, nurses, and nurse practitioners, including familiarity with IMLC, Nurse Compacts, CAQH, and FCVS.
