Position Summary:
The Cybersecurity Operations Specialist will join our Managed Security Services Team, focusing on the management of security incidents and events within the Security Operations Center (SOC). This role is pivotal in addressing security tickets and ensuring efficient handling of incidents.
The Specialist will also be expected to engage in various tasks within the SOC and mentor junior team members, enhancing the team's capabilities, particularly in vulnerability management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist colleagues in troubleshooting client issues and complex challenges by utilizing internal resources and independent research.
- Monitor and prioritize cybersecurity incidents effectively.
- Evaluate security threats impacting managed services customer networks and endpoints.
- Document security incident use cases and contribute to the development and refinement of procedures.
- Provide remote support for incident management and response.
- Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and be available for on-call support as necessary.
- Conduct threat hunting based on emerging Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) or vulnerabilities.
- Generate vulnerability reports to prioritize the remediation of critical and high-severity vulnerabilities.
Additional Duties:
- Stay engaged with technical forums and user groups.
- Perform other relevant tasks as assigned by department leadership.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of practical experience with networking and security technologies.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Proficient in various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and MacOS.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, triage, and resolve security incidents.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience troubleshooting in a technical environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus, Rapid7, or Qualys.
- Possession of an active security clearance is advantageous but not mandatory.
Certifications:
Candidates should hold or be willing to obtain one or more certifications in the cybersecurity domain, including but not limited to:
- CompTIA Security+, GISF, ISC SSCP, GSEC, ISACA CFC.
- CompTIA PenTest+, OSCP, CEH, GEVA.
Work Environment:
- Clearwater operates as a virtual company, with all employees working remotely.
- Employees are responsible for providing their own printer/scanner, computer audio capabilities, cell phone, internet service, and Microsoft Office software.
