Position Summary:

The primary function of this role is to assist physicians and medical staff by managing administrative and clerical tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining and organizing medical records, reports, and correspondence
  • Managing phone communications and scheduling appointments
  • Handling prior authorizations
  • Responding to patient and provider messages
  • Linking diagnostic imaging with orders and tracking progress
  • Verifying patient insurance for laboratory billing
  • Measuring and recording vital signs such as pulse, temperature, and blood pressure
  • Preparing and sanitizing examination rooms
  • Operating diagnostic equipment and scheduling tests
  • Administering injections and conducting routine lab tests
  • Assisting with patient-centered medical home (PCMH) initiatives
  • Providing coverage for absent staff members
  • Collaborating with colleagues

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A certificate from a college or technical school, or a minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Work Environment:

This position is based in a clinical setting, requiring regular interaction with patients and staff. The physical demands include sitting, using hands for tasks, and occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
