PROJECT ENGINEER II

At U.S. Engineering Construction, we are redefining national construction project execution. We lead the way in off-site manufacturing, specialized prefabrication, preconstruction, and mechanical construction services.

As a Project Engineer II, you will support the Project Manager in various project-related tasks, including planning and coordinating on-site construction activities for assigned projects, ensuring that project goals are met within the established timelines and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Coordinate purchasing, procurement, subcontracting, submittals, and project timelines.
  • Oversee project control and construction through administrative guidance of on-site superintendents and other field and office personnel to ensure quality projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage the profitability of assigned projects.
  • Build effective relationships with project teams, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and others.
  • Review and process submittals.
  • Handle subcontractor proposal requests, scope evaluations, and the issuance of subcontracts.
  • Monitor the progress of field and subcontractor schedules.
  • Issue significant purchase orders.
  • Assist in coordinating safety programs and conduct job site safety evaluations.
  • Manage all project correspondence.
  • Identify future project opportunities and network internally and externally to pursue them.
  • Oversee project closeouts.
  • Promote the company's core values in all project work.
Job Scope and Additional Information:
  • Work scope may vary from managing a single large project to several smaller projects.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Science Management, Architectural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Equivalent technical training and relevant experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 4 to 6 years of technical or administrative experience in HVAC, piping, and plumbing at a commercial, industrial, or institutional level is required.

  • Understanding of construction engineering technology, processes, and standards.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to develop and maintain strong professional relationships.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • The salary range for this position is set between $75,760 and $107,011, representing U.S. Engineering's good faith estimate at the time of posting. The compensation for the selected candidate will be determined based on various factors, including internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
  • Total compensation includes more than just the salary; team members are eligible for year-end bonuses based on company and/or individual performance, along with paid time off. An industry-leading benefits package, including health, dental, and vision plans, matching retirement contributions, and matching 529 contributions, enhances your overall compensation.
