Michael Baker International's Water Division specializes in providing cutting-edge consulting, planning, and engineering services for a wide array of water and wastewater initiatives. POSITION SUMMARY

The Water/Wastewater Project Manager will oversee project acquisition and execution within our Water/Wastewater Departments based in Houston. The focus will be on the planning and design of water and wastewater initiatives, which include aspects such as planning, conveyance, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct project execution as a Project Manager, ensuring technical design, financial performance, scope and schedule management, staffing, and quality assurance.
  • Lead the development of technical and pricing proposals.
  • Support the implementation of the Department's strategic business objectives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients in Southern California, particularly in the Inland Empire region.
  • Collaborate with other regional water/wastewater teams for effective resource management, work-sharing, and project pursuits.
  • Supervise and mentor team members.
  • Represent Michael Baker International professionally with agency personnel, clients, contractors, and industry organizations.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering, including work on pipelines, pump stations, chemical dosing systems, reservoirs, and similar projects.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Experience in supervising engineering teams in the delivery of Water/Wastewater projects.
  • Proficient in developing construction documents, including plans and technical specifications.
  • Experience in creating engineering cost estimates, technical memoranda, and design reports.
  • Professional Civil Engineer license in Texas is required, or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple project assignments to meet deadlines, while working independently and collaboratively.
  • A proactive self-starter with a passion for problem-solving, teamwork, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze project requirements, establish objectives, and develop and implement engineering solutions with minimal oversight.
COMPENSATION

The estimated compensation range for this role is $111,037 to $173,40. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and work location.
