Production Line Technician

JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Supervisor and Line Lead, the Machine Operator executes tasks in alignment with the established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Standards, and the facility's Food Safety Plan.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESMachine Operators are required to comprehend and adhere to all established safety, health, quality, Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
- Understand the purpose and ensure the proper functioning of all safety switches, interlocks, and safety devices.
- Maintain the work area to meet acceptable safety and cleanliness standards.
- Regularly check product and case codes for accuracy and legibility, completing package changeovers accurately and promptly.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues with equipment.
- Follow escalation protocols in a timely manner when troubleshooting efforts are unsuccessful.
- Collaborate closely with maintenance when escalation to maintenance support is necessary for mechanical issues.
- Complete and file all required quality and packaging documentation in an organized and timely manner.
- Notify the lead and supervisor of any significant problems or inquiries, including Quality or Food Safety concerns.
- Communicate processing information to designated personnel on the incoming shift.
- Regularly communicate with upstream and downstream operators to optimize line performance and ensure product integrity.
Includes sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of filling equipment, performing light maintenance duties on related production equipment, and any other responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor or Lead.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic math and writing skills are required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8 to 12 hours).
- Must be capable of lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork skills are essential.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is necessary.
- Forklift operation skills are advantageous.
- Ability to read and write basic English is required.
