- Personal Protective Equipment: Wear proper protective equipment at all times while working with chemicals and equipment.
- Continuing Education: Participate in continuing education programs to maintain pesticide applicator license and stay up-to-date on industry developments.
- Equipment Workshops: Attend equipment workshops and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repair on equipment and fixed facilities.
- Soil Sampling: Collect and analyze soil samples to inform fertilizer application decisions.
- Fertilizer Mixing: Mix dry and liquid fertilizers according to customer specifications.
- Chemical and Seed Delivery: Pick up and deliver farm chemicals, fertilizer, and seed to customers.
- Sales and Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service and make sales calls to customers to promote our products and services.
- Other Duties: Perform other work-related duties as assigned by leadership, including reliable and regular attendance.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Experience operating large equipment required.
- Licenses and Certifications: CDL and pesticide license required; additional licenses or certifications may be required in some states.
- Background Check and Drug Test: Must pass a background check and drug test.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Mechanically inclined and able to perform routine maintenance and repair on equipment.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Ag Pesticides and Weed Identification: Basic knowledge of ag pesticides and weed identification.
- Driving Record: Excellent driving record and ability to pass a CDL physical examination.
- Field Mapping: Ability to accurately read field maps and navigate complex terrain.
- Professional Competence to Safety: Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
