Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Envision Unlimited is a leading provider of care services for individuals with disabilities. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in the Chicagoland South Suburban area.

About the Role:

The Direct Support Professional will work closely with residents to evaluate and provide training in daily living and social skills, enabling them to achieve and maintain their maximum level of functioning with independent community living.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assist residents with personal grooming and appearance as necessary
  • Transport and accompany residents to appointments and other services, including day program sites, as needed
  • Supervise and assist residents in taking their medication in accordance with program guidelines
  • Assist residents in preparation of daily schedules to include performance of household chores, social activities, and other meetings and appointments
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties, such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping, and monitor and assist residents with daily bedroom maintenance
  • Respond to medical and behavioral emergencies following appropriate Health and Safety, Aggression Management, First Aid, CPR, and other procedures as necessary
  • Plan menus and assist with meal preparation as required, monitoring and observing residents with special dietary needs
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED (required proof)
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Reliable transportation
  • DSP experience preferred
  • Driver's License required
Work Environment:

The work environment is typically low to moderate noise level, with opportunities to work alone or with others, and may include verbal and face-to-face contact.
