Job Title: Direct Support Professional - Chicagoland South Suburban Locations

Envision Unlimited is a leading provider of care services for individuals with disabilities. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in the Chicagoland South Suburban locations.

About the Role:

The Direct Support Professional will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities in achieving their maximum level of functioning and independence. This includes evaluating and providing training on daily living and social skills, as well as assisting with personal care and daily routines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assist residents with personal grooming and appearance as necessary
  • Transport and accompany residents to appointments and other services, including day program sites, as needed
  • Supervise and assist residents in taking their medication in accordance with program guidelines
  • Assist residents in preparation of daily schedules to include performance of household chores, social activities, and other meetings and appointments
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties, such as vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping, and monitor and assist residents with daily bedroom maintenance
  • Respond to medical and behavioral emergencies following appropriate Health and Safety, Aggression Management, First Aid, CPR, and other procedures as necessary
  • Plan menus and assist with meal preparation as required, and monitor and observe residents with special dietary needs
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED (required proof)
  • Be able to pass a background check
  • Reliable transportation
  • DSP experience preferred
  • Drivers License required
Work Environment:

The work environment is typically low to moderate noise level, and may include working alone, working with others, verbal contact with others, and face-to-face contact.
