Job Title: Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily living tasks, supporting their goals and needs, and advocating for their rights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily routines for clients, ensuring their needs are met and their goals are achieved.
  • Support clients in their daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Assist clients in accessing community resources and participating in leisure activities.
  • Monitor and report any incidents or concerns, ensuring the health and safety of clients.
  • Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized plans for clients.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in caregiving, preferably in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification (preferred or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of hire).
  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment).
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work in various weather conditions.
