Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.
Job Summary:The Direct Support Professional will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily routines, providing personal care, and supporting individuals to participate in leisure activities and socialize with peers.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement daily routines for clients, ensuring their needs are met and goals are achieved.
- Support individuals with personal care, including grooming, bathroom needs, and changing undergarments or clothing if necessary.
- Prepare daily meals and assist with clean-up.
- Transport clients to and from appointments, activities, and social events.
- Report incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of professional or personal experience in caregiving, preferably supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors.
- Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & Year 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of hire.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a California Driver's License.
- Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check.
