About the Role

R1 RCM is seeking a skilled Coding Audit Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of coding practices in our clients' facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audit clinical documentation to ensure accurate selection of evaluation and management codes, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
  • Conduct documentation audits and prepare resulting reports, including national comparative data.
  • Create and maintain education materials for clients to support documentation improvement and coding guidelines.
  • Research, review, and interpret payer guidelines.
  • Perform validation reviews for coding quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Provide written feedback and recommendations for providers and coding staff.
  • Prepare resource materials for education, including tip sheets and coding resources.
Requirements
  • 5 years of coding and/or auditing experience in multiple specialties.
  • Nationally recognized coding credential (CPMA, CPC, COC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong experience working with PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe.
  • Understanding of ICD-10-CM and PCS, CPT, HCPCS, medical terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and HIPAA Compliance.
