Position Overview:
The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our Public Works Unit. This role offers a competitive salary range of $68,000 - $78,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will provide essential engineering support, acting as a project manager and resource for staff. Responsibilities include:
  • Administering engineering service contracts and reviewing plans.
  • Managing projects from inception to completion, both in the office and in the field.
  • Facilitating communication between field crews and various departments.
  • Implementing a robust condition-based asset management program.
  • Independently evaluating utility and infrastructure engineering challenges.
  • Coordinating efforts with consultants, contractors, and project staff.

Essential Duties:
The Civil Engineering Project Manager will:
  • Conduct civil engineering design and oversee construction contract administration.
  • Provide field support for the maintenance and repair of municipal water, sanitary, and stormwater systems.
  • Perform onsite evaluations of infrastructure requiring improvement.
  • Collaborate with city staff and governmental agencies to develop inspection and repair plans.
  • Prepare bid documents and manage contract administration.
  • Lead project teams and interact with various stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant civil or environmental engineering experience.

Licensing Requirements:
At entry, candidates must have:
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
  • A valid Driver's License.
