Purpose Statement: The Maintenance Team Leader oversees a unit dedicated to the upkeep of the plant's machinery, structures, and facilities. This role requires providing technical expertise in maintenance, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic engineering, while ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules under the guidance of the Plant Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the activities of maintenance, electrical, and hydraulic teams, offering engineering support as needed.
  • Mentor and inspire team members, facilitating training and development to enhance their performance and career growth.
  • Communicate performance expectations to team members, recognizing achievements and addressing performance issues.
  • Diagnose mechanical and operational issues with assigned equipment, planning and executing corrective measures.
  • Schedule preventive maintenance inspections to avoid production disruptions.
  • Document and analyze causes of production delays, maintaining operational reports for management.
  • Ensure plant facilities and grounds comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the procurement process for major equipment, advocating for the company's interests with external contractors and vendors.
  • May oversee plant safety, coordinating inspections and implementing solutions for identified safety concerns.
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance and safety policies and procedures.
  • Support annual budget preparation related to maintenance and safety of facilities and equipment.
  • Stay updated on the latest manufacturing technologies and engineering concepts.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as necessary to support the business objectives of Rich Products Corporation.
  • Collaborate with Process Improvement Teams to assist in the development and execution of team charters.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED; HVAC licensing preferred; BA/BS in Engineering or related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting, with knowledge of refrigeration, plumbing, industrial electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience in preventative maintenance techniques and safety management.
  • Familiarity with FA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), sanitation processes, and HACCP.
  • Understanding of efficient manufacturing operations, including safety standards and cost control measures.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and train team members effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient in using Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
