Position Overview:

As a Field Mechanic specializing in heavy equipment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our construction machinery fleet. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy equipment, including cranes and earth-moving machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and repairs to uphold the functionality of our heavy construction equipment, including crawler cranes and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on mobile machinery while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Operate and inspect equipment to identify defects and necessary repairs.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery using hand tools and hoists as required.
  • Possess welding torch cutting skills to enhance repair capabilities.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals effectively to execute maintenance tasks.
  • Exhibit a willingness to travel and stay overnight as project demands dictate.
  • Inspect components for damage or excessive wear and take appropriate action.
  • Test repaired equipment to confirm optimal performance.
  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of cranes as needed.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to preventative maintenance across all equipment types.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience working with cranes, hydraulic systems, and general heavy machinery.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures consistently.
  • Capable of lifting weights up to 50 pounds occasionally for manual tasks.
  • Physically fit to navigate challenging terrains to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Willing to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a structured work schedule.
  • Availability for overtime work as required.
  • Physical endurance to stand, squat, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Completion of a post-offer drug screening is mandatory.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Possession of a welding certification is advantageous.
  • Completion of OSHA safety training along with a current First Aid and CPR certification.
