Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator and Construction Specialist to join our team at My Florida Corp Defunct. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and performing construction and maintenance tasks for boat access facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators and trucks, to perform construction and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct inspections of boat access sites to assess repair and maintenance needs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of boat ramp assessments in the Boat Ramp Maintenance Database.
  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance of boat ramps.
  • Coordinate and assist with major repairs, renovations, and construction of new boat access facilities.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment and other equipment necessary for repair, renovation, and construction of boat access facilities.
  • Inventory, assess, and perform routine repairs and maintenance of uniform waterway markers.
  • Compile and enter data into the waterway marker database.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of construction techniques, including slope, angle, and specialized techniques for building boat ramps and installing docks and walkways.
  • Ability to operate heavy duty trucks and excavator equipment.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and ability to obtain and maintain.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and obtain and maintain certification.
  • State of Florida driver's license and ability to obtain and maintain.
  • Safe operator status for operating a vessel.
  • Ability to swim and work in water year-round.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds repetitively up to 300 times per day.
  • Microsoft Office computer skills, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work well independently and with a partner.
  • Ability to work in remote rural areas.
